I have a few rules when it comes to taking pictures of everyday people. Firstly, I never photograph anyone who is on their cell phone. It just seems kind of rude to interrupt someone when they are having a conversation. I have wanted to break this rule so many times! The most fashionable people always seem to be in the midst of a heated cellular discussion. BOO! If a person seems like they are in hurry I try to avoid them as well and if it’s raining I do not ask people to stop and pose. Basically, fate decides if I will ask a particular individual to pose for me. Fate presented the first young man in today’s post. He was standing outside a coffee house putting out a very chill “I’m-in-no-hurry” vibe . He was not on the phone and it was not raining. So when I walked right by him, I had to get mad at myself. I turned around and approached him
His shirt is a map of NYC. I told him I thought it was cool and asked him if he got it in New York. He replied with an appreciative smile, “No, Japan”

I broke one of my rules unknowingly for this young man. He and his friend were in a hurry and I asked to take his picture. They looked surprisingly calm so I couldn’t tell that they were behind schedule. I asked him to pose facing me because I love his shirt but he preferred posing to the side. I love the side view as well cause it shows off his ink. Thanks so much for stopping! I hope you got there in time!
