Scarves, Hats and Boots

Accessories are the key to Fall and Winter wardrobes. Actually they are the key to any wardrobe but it’s easier to get away with a plain tank top and booty shorts in the summer. Most summer accessories are of the metal jewelery variety and the heat forces the fashionista to keep them to a minimum. The Fall, however, enables accessory over-load! Yes, there is such a thing. Luckily the ladies in today’s post know how to make fall accessories work for them.

The fashion world says that scarves are out but can something that keeps your neck warm ever go out of style? P.S, People still wear them.

These hats are so back. Depending on the material, they are great for Summer and Winter

I am new to the Clothing Show circuit. I attended the last show that took place in Spring 2008 but I wasn’t able to spend a ton of time there and I regretted it. This year I bit the bullet and made sure to visit the ATM before I got my wrist stamped for re-entry. If there is a place to throw credit card cautionĀ  to the wind, it’s The Clothing Show. It is a warehouse of justifiable purchases! You find yourself saying stuff like “If I bought this in the mall, it would be twice as much” or “some of the money goes to charity!” It’s guilt free shopping at it’s best. It’s also a great place to see what is going on in the Canadian fashion industry. Most of the designers are independent and their pieces are truly unique. Here are some of my fave picks.

Hats and headbands by Ophelie Hats. These bands are so coming back.

My girl Melanie’s pick for the day. Top by Precocious

Gorgeous jacket by Hip Line’s Eve Kinizo

I so wanted to buy this for my boyfriend. Hound’s Tooth sweater by Plastik Wrap

Grey trench by 2960

Long hooded dress by Gypsy Circus

A vintage pair of John Fluevogs. Too bad they were a size to small :(

Hot shirt entitled The Jester by FS&E.

Manifesto Fetival 2008!!!

This year’s second annual Manifesto Festival was an amazing success! The main event at Nathan Philips Square was fun, inspiring and entertaining. It was one of those events that make you feel good just to be there because you know that you are part of something ground-breaking and innovative. In addition to the main event, there were several artistic and creative events that took place all over the T-dot.

If you did not go this year I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you attend next year. This event is only going to get bigger and better!

The event was particularly wonderful for me because there were plenty of fashionistas who were ready for the camera. I have to send a very special shout outĀ  to my girl Keisha who helped stroll around with me and take pics.
