I have never really been a fan of the stars and stripes as an accessory but when I saw this bag I fell in love. It is a Barack Obama inspired handbag that was designed by Sex and The City handbag designer Timmy Woods
It exudes presidential style. It looks like something Jacki O would wear but more…fun.
The purse, which was inspired by Obama’s campaign signage, will be given to his wife Michelle. I just have to find out how I can get one.
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
Those brilliant words were spoken by Coco Chanel over 40 years ago and they are as true today as they were back then. Coco Chanel is still considered one of Haute Couture’s most iconic figures and the proof is that there are two films being released in the near future that portray the feisty fashionista.
The feature length film entitled Coco Avant Chanel (Coco before Chanel) will focus on Coco’s early years in fashion and explore her romances and experiences. Audrey Tatou is set to play the young fashion designer and the film will be directed by acclaimed French director Anne Fontaine.

Coco will also be potrayed by Shirley McLaine in an up-coming mini series which will air on Lifetime on beginning September 13. This series will focus heavily on Chanel in her later years, although a youthful Chanel will be portrayed by Barbara Bobulova.

Coco was a fasinating woman with radical ideas. The excitement of these two films got my juices flowing. Even though street fashion is my life, I am a sucker for the classic elegance of haute couture. I love old footage of fashion shows from Dior, Yves Sainte Laurent and Chanel. So naturally I went looking for footage of a classic Chanel fashion show to include in this post. What I found was footage of Coco Chanel’s private apartment in a video by Vogue Tv
This apartment is SO ELEGANT! The host talks about how the apartment smells of Chanel Number 5 and the design is IMPECCIBLE. Like the lady who lived in it!
The official launch of Deez Knots took place last night at the Beautiful Burroughes Building in downtown Toronto. The label, which is the creation of designers Chinedu U and Sophia Therese Ha, is the most uniquely hip collection of ties that the industry has seen in A LONG TIME. In fact, I don’t think I have ever seen ties like these. The show was not only entertaining, it highlighted how a funky tie can accessorize any outfit for both women and men. Look out for this collection…It’s HOT!
One of my favs..It will make a great boyfriend gift
