Paris Awaits

One day when I was lost in a link labyrinth on the internet, I came across a Blog called Don’t Hate Me Because I Live in Paris. It is a fashion Blog published by an American who lives in Paris and works in the fashion industry. I thought it was one of the best Blog titles I have ever heard. It’s so poignant because many people would hate her just because she works in fashion, let alone that she gets to do it in Paris. I was reminded of the Blog because of the first young lady in today’s post. She was outside the hostel on King and Spadina and I was immediately taken by her casual outfit. The young lady told me she is from Paris and was so friendly! I guess a Parisian can even make sweat pants look good!

She suggested that I get a shot of her from the back. Good suggestion.

I like the vest. The blend of casual and business attire works. I also love the skirt jewelery!

I just saw the new video for Everyone Nose (remix) by N*E*R*D featuring Lupe Fiasco and Kanye and it is very  cool!

What caught my eye the most was Pharrell’s eye-wear, featured below. I’m pretty sure these thick banner sunglasses (that’s my phrase to describe them, I don’t actually know what they are called) are gonna be HOT this fall. Hell, I already want a pair!

The pics are not great cause A.) I could not find the video on You Tube so we will have to make due with still shots and B.) the video is supposed to look like pixels. The whole video is like a shout out to 8 bit video games!

Naomi Wolf once said that the only professions where women dominate are prostitution and modeling. She made that statement over 10 years ago and at the time, it was an accurate observation.

Nowadays there are so many clothing lines and products that are marketed exclusively to men, while items such as cars and sporting equipment are being marketed to women. These developments have definately raised the number of male models and have made male fashion an even bigger business than it was.  Whether this is a sign of progress is debatable but what is undeniable is that men are following fashion and trends more than they were 10 years ago. The evidence is in the street, on the runway and in today’s post.

Johny in the grocery store. He looks oh so fresh and clean

The shirt, the shoes, the hat, it all works…especially the shoes!
